fuck shoes.

I went out to buy a much needed new pair of shoes and came back with $50 worth of underwear. I have an addiction. Undie intervention?

Worst. Sunday. Ever.

This Saturday night I crashed Erins staff party (hello free alcohol) which took place in a daycare (hello toys). Once thoroughly loafed we headed to Earls where DJ Adam K was spinning (http://www.myspace.com/adamkmyspace) and successfully danced the evening away.

Needless to say, I woke up in a rather shitty state and my parents were pissed I ate all the multigrain tostitos to cure my raging hangover. They refused to drive me to my car, so I figured I'd just ride my bike to get it. And because I'm a lazy genous, I figured I'd cut through the train yard instead of cruising all the way down Central. Turns out the train yard is a fucking massive maze of creepiness and I got so wicked lost I didnt even think i was in Sutherland anymore.

By the time I completed my trecherous bike adventure, I'm exhausted& freezing and had to ram my stupid bike inside my little mini eclipse, outside the gym, with people watching. I headed to mac's to replenish our households lack of tostitos and they dont even have fuckin multigrain. hint of lime? i dont think so.

Frustrated with my afternoon, I sit down to enjoy the football game with my fam and our tostitos. Killer game, but the Riders lost the in the last 10 seconds because they put too many players on the field. rookie mistake. Should've anticipated the massive disappointment with the way my day was going.

I've had better weeks.
Tomorrows a new day.

We're not just spinning our wheels.

Awareness.

I'm going to keep on crushing brews & slaying bitches.

Just a Dood.

One of my favorite groovy summer time tunes.

Verse two is my fav:

Chorus:
I’m just a dude and I do things the way dudes do
Cause I’m glued and stuck on you, but I say do what you need to do
I’ll be here, drinking a beer, looking around, holding it down
Thinking of you…
Verse 2

I couldn’t even speak, we’d reached that point in every night when
it comes time to climb into the bed alone and let the night descend.
She likes me, I like her, we might blend in a slight blur.
We sized each other up then We Bent inward

I kissed her on the lips and then she bit it with a tongue twisted,
spit shined, clit pierced, tongue tied, unwind.
Some find the dumb blind groping to be a focus for their hoping
better days will come when somebody get you open.

But until then it feel shit when good gals go bad,
when girls go wild, should I cheer? Should I chug a beer?
Should I fear for the ladies who don’t act like this?
Who don’t glorify the whore inside, the passionless?

If you think that you work it, then that’s your kick.
If you want it to be perfect, you gotta practice it.
But unless you want to put the time in, I’m in no rush
to rush in, in fact I’m strapped for time.

Rock & Disco in one song? Hello!

Sometimes I'm glad I live at home.

This kind of makes me want to become a team mascot.

Packing my suitcase is made a lot easier thanks to my many years spent playing Tetris.

I had no idea travelling overseas would take so much effort. I picture it being as simple as:

-Choose destination.
-Book flight.
-Pack Bag.
-Leave.

Turns out there is a lot more involved:

-Choose destination.
-Save immense amounts of $$ and live on a super limited budget.
-Research places to go & things to see.
-Harrass any one whose been to Australia, New Zealand or Thailand to obtain any ounce of knowledge they can provide.
-Tell employers you're leaving them for 4 months, but would still like work for them when you arrive home.
-Speak with travel agent about flight options, arrival and departure dates.
-Get medical insurance.
-Cancel cell phone.
-Cancel vehicle regstration.
-Purchase an Aussie appropriate wardrobe during a Saskatchewan winter (impossible!)
-Purchase valid passport.
-Apply & obtain an Austrailian visa.
-Arrange banking & Visa limits.
-Pack 4 months of your life into a backpack.
-Say goodbye to the people you love.

I'm not a very anxious person, but this to-do list is enough to make anyone stress out. It's a good thing I'm travelling to the most relaxed place on the planet. The beaches and sunshine will be well worth it.

Junk Cemetery.

We’re producing new homes, vehicles, gadgets, gizmos and other designs faster than we can get rid of the old ones. Tires, airplanes, bicycles and cell phones don’t just magically disappear once they outlive their usefulness. Sometimes they’re stripped down and recycled, and sometimes they’re just left to sit and rot for decades on end. Much like abandoned buildings and cities, these places can haunt the collective memory. Here’s a look at the afterlife of everyday objects, piled into staggering mounds that resemble nothing more than cemeteries for stuff.

When U.S. military airplanes need to be repaired or are just too old to fly, many of them end up in the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center, or AMARC, in Tucson, Arizona. Some of these planes are restored to operational status while others are broken down for parts.

The ‘Ship Cemetery’ of Nouadhibou Bay in Mauritania contains more than 300 wrecked ships that linger throughout the harbor. Mauritanian harbor officers reportedly took money in exchange for allowing ship owners to abandon their property. Nouadhibou is one of the world’s poorest cities, and people actually live in many of the ships that line the beaches.

Tires are one of the most copious waste materials on earth. In the USA alone, about 300 million tires are scrapped every year. They tend to be dumped in mountainous piles that collect water and serve as mosquito breeding grounds. Some of them are recycled – through a burning process that creates huge amounts of toxic air pollution, oil and heavy metals – and others just waste away in landfills.

Electronic waste is the fastest growing part of our municipal waste stream. We have a rather un-earth-friendly habit of replacing electronics like cell phones, computers and televisions before we really need to, sending millions of these chemical-laden items to landfills and so-called ‘recycling centers’ where they really end up getting dumped in countries like China.

Cell phones have a rather abysmal recycling rate, with only about 1% ending up at recycling facilities like this one where they are processed to recover metals that are then used to make more electronics. Of the remaining 99% of discarded cell phones, some are reused or refurbished, but most end up in landfills.

Consumers are being warned to beware free electronic waste collection events that call themselves “environmentally responsible”. While you might think your old TV is going to be disassembled and recycled into new electronics, more often than not, the electronics gathered at these events are simply exported and dumped. It’s especially important to ensure that televisions don’t end up in landfills or dumping grounds, because they contain lead and mercury.

So, what did they do with all the helicopters, tanks, cars, trucks and construction equipment that was contaminated after being used in the cleanup of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster? Nothing, as it turns out. They’re all sitting in a field surrounded by razor wire about 15 miles from the accident site. They were only meant to sit for a few months until they were safe to use again, but the wind blew more contamination onto them. Now, you’re supposed to wear a decontamination suit to even get near them.

Millzbeats sound is so amazing it's hard to believe he's unsigned. Now if only I could find somewhere to download his tracks..

Food Inc.

My bro just downloaded this documentary on itunes & I haven't had a chance to watch it all the way through but I can't wait! So far it's made me a lot more conscience of what I put in my body. Defintiely worth a watch.

Check out the official trailer here:

Did you know?

Puts things in perspective.

Departures.

Departures is my ultamite favorite TV show of all time. It features two young dudes, Scott & Justin, who travel the world and document their discoveries on film. Their real-time, real-life experiences is what makes the show so addicting... and the fact that Scott is so dreamy doesn't hurt. Watching this show gets me so amped for my upcoming trip to New Zealand, Australia and Thailand this January.

”This trip comes at a now-or-never point in my life right now I think and if I don’t do this now the window of opportunity closes. And you get married and you have children and those are great things and important parts of life but I’m, I’m not quite ready for them now so this is the time to strike.” -Scott Wilson

It's like he can read my mind.

I put more thought into my halloween costume than my career.

Halloween is easily one of my favorite holidays. It's the only day of the year when dressing up as whatever you want is totally justified. This year my costume of choice was Miss Lady Gaga herself.

We're rockin' a triple entendre

Flat surfaces never stopped these dudes.

Unfortunately, it's mid-november and we've had zero snow. This amazing Ad proves an abundance of leaves serve just a well as fresh pow. Now if only Saskatchwan had mountains..
